1. The 2017 Pride Parade

This year the parade will assemble at St. Stephen’s Green South speeches and entertainment from the start point at 12 noon. The Pride Parade will embark on its route at 2pm sharp. From there it will head through Dublin and will finish at our brand new Pride Village location which is located at Smithfield.

2. Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series

Ireland will host one of the six stops of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2017 at Poll Na Péist (Serpent’s Lair) on Inis Mór on 24th June. The world’s elite male and female cliff divers will return for the third time to the rugged west coast of Ireland for a dramatic competition opener. Standing 27m./ 90 ft. (men) and 21m. / 70 ft. (women) in height, divers will reach speeds more than 85km/h before meeting the wild Atlantic below. Three seconds of acrobatic free fall at venues ranging from natural wonders and visual feasts to historic sites and unknown grounds will push the boundaries of this rapidly progressing sport again in 2017

3. Dublin Trout Juvenile Fishing Competition and family day

DTAA will host its annual juvenile and family angling competition at Courtlough Trout Fishery, Balbriggan, on Saturday 24th June from 10am till 2pm. Entry is free of charge for DTAA Juvenile members.Family and friends of DTAA are cordially invited to participate in this family fun and fishing day.Activities for the day include fly tying, fly casting, fishing for trout and a BBQ. The lake is a small trout fishery, fly fishing only from the bank and they operate a catch and release policy.Each child must have an adult supervising and helping with casting, netting, measuring and releasing as required. Eye protection (glasses) must be worn when fishing or near the lake.

5. The Stoneybatter Festival

This weekend see all sorts of events come to Dublin’s best urban village as part of the first ever Stoneybatter Festival which runs from Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th

Friday sees the official launch by the Lord Mayor followed by Jim Carroll hosting Stoneybanter in Clarke’s City Arms at 830pm, a panel discussion with three of the most interesting creative people in the area – film designer Annie Atkins (Bridge of Spies, The Grand Budapest Hotel), writer Colin Murphy (The Guarantee, Inside the GPO) and singer Radie Peat (Lankum/Lynched/Rue) followed by the Ju Ju Club Strikes Back with Claire Moloney.

Saturday sees a wide range of open day events in local museums and churches. The Stoneybatter Slideshow at 530pm in Bí Urban showcases the work of local filmmakers while the highlight of SAturdays’s programme is a concert in St Lawrences Church in Grangegorman featuring the Keanettess, Mary & The Pigeons and Chequerboard.

Sunday is the centrepiece of the festival – Manor Street will be closed to traffic from 12-6 with a range of family fun events including the Woofstock dog show and Mrs Doyle’s Tea Party where Pauline McLynn (Father Ted) and Anna Nolan (Great Irish Bakeoff) will try to find the best baker in the ‘batter with prizes for best cake, best plate of biscuits and best plate of sandwiches.

6. WoofStock


Stoneybatter Dog Show

Get your Woof on at Woofstock taking place this year in Dublin’s dog loving neighbourhood – Stoneybatter. Everyone welcome, it’s not just for dogs!

You can enter the following categories on the day;

7. Busking Competition

The biggest busking competition in the Midlands takes places in Edgeworthstown Co. Longford on Saturday June 24th, with in excess of €1,500 prize money. All genres of music welcome.

8. Longford Summer Festival

This weekend is set to be an exciting one in Longford town, as the Longford Summer Festival takes place.
Revived last year after a fifteen-year absence, the festival proved to be a huge hit, and by all accounts the 2016 event will be one to remember.
Set to take place in the Connolly Barracks from Friday, June 24 – Sunday, June 26, the weekend will kick off with a Mega Beach Party on Friday night, with gates open at 8pm.
There will be plenty of musical entertainment throughout the three days, with local favourites Brave Giant, Tomás Skelly, Reprisal and 4 Degrees West as well as Offaly native Mundy taking to the stage. There will be many familiar faces performing during the day, too, while Reuben the Magician, Punch and Judy and Storytime with Maggi will keep the little ones entertained.

9. The Oughterard Trails Festival

10. Féile an Dóilín Regatta

13. International Pike Classic

Bringing 90 boats and 180 anglers to Lough Ree from June 24th – 25th, the Lough Ree International Pike Classic takes place on the renowned World Predator Boat Championship fishery at Lanesborough, Ballyleague, Longford, Roscommon border. Lough Ree is 16 miles long and the second largest lake on the Shannon system and it has been chosen based on the quality of its pike angling.Join anglers from all over the world for two days of world class fishing at world class venue with top prizes. This event is organized by Camlin & District Anglers Club for the Lough Ree Angling Hub

19. Killruddery Mid-Summer’s Garden Party

We’ll be celebrating mid-summer with lots of fun activities for all the family!
All-singing, all-ukulele playing trio ” The Kooky Ukes” will turn tracks inside out and serve them back to you with a totally new vibrant flavour on our main lawn from 12pm to 3pm along with lots of garden games for all the family from 11am- 4pm. Killruddery will have our own farmed pig on the spit, sweet and savory crepes and our usual Tea room delights.
This event is free to Killruddery Members, you don’t need to book tickets in advance, unless the number of people you are bringing is higher than allowed on your membership. 26. Spraoi Chiarrai

The Free Concerts will take place in two venues in the town. The already established venue of St Mary’s Church of Ireland and new for this year the outdoor concerts will take place at the wonderful environs of Killarney House & Gardens.  The Concerts will feature a wide range of performance including Irish Harp, Accordion, Flute & Whistle, Irish Uilleann Pipes, Guitar, Bodhrán and Vocals together with (Irish Dancing & Storytelling Killarney House Outdoor Only).

The weekend kicks off with an opening night concert at Nenagh Arts Centre, followed by music sessions in a number of bars around the town. Saturday will see traditional music workshops in the morning, a family funday with live music, food and activities for all the family at The People’s Picnic in the Castle Field. Later on in the Castle Field, the highlight of the festival – internationally renowned artists Mundy, Paddy Casey and friends will take to the stage for a free open-air concert. What better way to round off a great night than to head to your favourite bar to listen to some of the best traditional musicians in the country?

The walk will be approximately 5 km along one of the many way marked trails in the park.
Afterwards we shall be heading for a meal to The Moorings Bar & Restaurant in nearby Knockvicar, to arrive by 4:30 pm.
